Transitioning from a technical to a people focused role
What is it?
This two day workshop is designed to help analysts adapt to the significant changes in responsibility and mind set when making the transition from technical analyst to team leader. Delegates will learn how to become an effective manager, delivering through others rather than relying on their own technical expertise.
Who is it for?
This workshop is suitable for anyone working in a role which involves managing people with a technical skill set. Our participants come from a broad range of disciplines including business intelligence, customer analytics, data science, pricing, credit risk and IT. Whether managing a team of one or fifty this workshop is an ideal introduction to people management.
What do participants learn?
Participants will learn how to overcome the challenges faced when moving from a role where they are measured on technical ability to one where they will need to deliver through others. The workshop provides guidance on how to avoid the pitfalls such as staying involved in the detail and micro-managing individuals. Participants will come away with a clear view of the role a manager can play and will be equipped with techniques that allow them to manage their people and workload effectively.

Who facilitates the workshop?
The workshop will be facilitated by one of Demarq Academy’s senior consultants who will have a number of years’ experience of delivering management and leadership training both clientside and agency side.
